UPDATE: Oscar Ray Bolin lost his appeal for a stay of execution. The execution was carried out last night, about four hours after the originally scheduled time of 6:00 p.m. He was pronounced dead at 10:16 p.m. The first scheduled execution of 2016 is tonight in Florida. But Oscar Ray Bolin’s appellate team is apparently scrambling to get a stay and a new trial. Bolin is set to die for murdering Terry Lynn Matthews in 1986. He was also convicted of murdering two other women in Florida the same year—Natalie Holley and Stephanie Collins. All three women were stabbed to death. The cases were unsolved for about three years. When authorities caught up with Bolin, he was serving time in Ohio for a 1987 kidnapping and rape. Bolin went to trial in Florida and was convicted of all the murders…
