SUMMARY:Pre-Trial Hearing in Murder of Teresa Sievers
DESCRIPTION:The trial of Mark Sievers\, 50\, husband of Teresa Sievers\, was originally scheduled to begin June 3\, 2019 in Fort Myers\, Florida\, but the trial is delayed. A new trial date has not been set but the judge is holding a pre-trial hearing today. \nSievers is accused of hiring a childhood friend\, Curtis Wayne Wright\, to kill his wife while he and their two children were on vacation in Connecticut. Teresa Sievers had left the vacation early to return home for work. As soon as she walked into her Bonita Springs\, FL home\, she was attacked and bludgeoned to death on June 29\, 2015. Wright was eventually arrested\, along with a friend he brought along to help\, co-defendant Jimmy Ray Rodgers. Wright took a deal with prosecutors and will testify against Sievers and Rodgers. Wright is serving a 25-year sentence for second degree murder. Mark Sievers and Rodgers face the death penalty.
