Next week, on August 15 at 10 p.m. ET, A&E will begin airing a six-part weekly series about the Scott Peterson case. The network is calling it “The Murder of Laci Peterson.” I suspect A&E chose that title (as opposed to “The Scott Peterson Case”) because they question whether Scott Peterson is the murderer though there’s no doubt that the deaths of Laci and her unborn son, Conner, were murder. Most of what I know about the series is based on published reports teasing the upcoming series. I know that Scott Peterson’s family cooperated with the series, and that Scott’s voice will be heard in a phone call with his sister-in-law, Janey. The producers also spoke to reporters who covered the case (but I was never contacted) and, I assume, some folks who are on the prosecution side. Laci’s mother…
