This past weekend I wrote an op-ed piece about the need to televise the Baltimore police trials. I sent it to the Baltimore Sun yesterday. They just indicated that it will be published in January but asked that it not be published elsewhere–including on KOC. I agreed to their terms which is that they retain exclusive rights until publication and for 30 days after it.

I have made the argument for cameras in the Baltimore trials in one or two BK Live videos. It’s the same message…

A hearing on further proceedings in 15CR5795 (People of the State of Colorado v. Robert Dear) is set for Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom S401 of the El Paso County Judicial Building (270 S. Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80901).  Chief Judge Gilbert Martinez will preside.

The new trial date for State of Maryland v. William Porter is June 13, 2016.

This date was selected at a scheduling conference held in Judge Williams’ chambers December 21, 2015 with the attorneys for the case. The new trial date will be formalized and approved at an Administrative Court hearing at 9:30 a.m. December 22, 2015 at Courthouse East, Courtroom 556E. The sole purpose of the hearing is to have the new trial date read into the record. It is anticipated that this will take no longer than 5 minutes. At the conclusion of his trial, the defendant was advised of his right to appear in Administrative Court and has waived his right to appear.

The trial date for State of Maryland v. Caesar Goodson remains January 6, 2016.
