UPDATE: On May 2, 2016, Judge Mary Staley granted the defense’s motion for a change of venue, essentially taking the case off calendar until a jurisdiction in Georgia is found to move the trial. Judge Staley will travel along with the attorneys, witnesses and support staff to the new venue. I understand from folks close to the case that the new trial date won’t be until the end of the summer or early fall, at the earliest.
